Homemade Bacon Vodka?

January 30, 2008 – 11:57 am

It’s good to know that I’m not the only one that’s crazy enough to dream of such concoctions! If someone would like to volunteer to cook up a batch and send me some of this tasty intoxicant (I can only cook hard boiled eggs), I’ll be more than happy to try it! Here’s the link to the recipie: Brownie Points. (DM me for my address) ;)

  2. I checked with a pal who is a professional chef, and he said: “I can’t imagine that it tastes like meat. It probably tastes like vodka flavored with
    caramelized maple and smoke.”

    You could probably get the same effect by mixing a dash of Liquid Smoke and maple syrup in with some regular vodka.

  4. How ’bout some Bacon Candy?

    Ingredients

    * 1 lb Bacon (not thick-cut)
    * 1/4 cup Brown sugar

    Cooking Instructions

    Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.

    Slice bacon into 1/2 inch strips and dredge in brown sugar until thoroughly coated.

    Crumple aluminum foil to allow for grease drainage and place it on a baking sheet. Lay out the bacon on this making sure not to overlap pieces.

    Bake until crispy. Allow to cool and harden before serving.
    Notes

    It’ll be the very first thing that’s munched up if you bring it to a party. Guaranteed.
