Le Perigord Restaurant Review
February 6, 2008 – 10:37 amLe Perigord is the oldest French restaurant in Manhattan and I must comment on the ambiance, service, food, wine, and desert which were all impeccable. Perfection in presentation as well! It is truly an unforgettable dining experience. See for yourself in the following video. I warn you, if you have a sweet tooth, beware!

I swear, Michelle, you and your mom make me hungry every time you do a vid. Just two good lookin’ women out for a meal at a fine place.
And a MacBook
Seriously, keep it up. I like the back and forth between you and your mom!

I LOVE this series. This is really great….and wow, what a restaurant. BTW: You’ve got good genes…you and your mom are knockouts.

Wow, your mom is a stunner. Now I know where you get it!
Love me some Perigordean eats, too - foie gras, gesiers salad, roast duck…Think I’ll have to try this place when I’m in NY this month!

Damn, I lOVE Le Perigord and I haven’t been there in years. You brought it all back in your great vid. Aren’t the Îles Flotantes awesome?
I really envy you having your Mom to have fun with. That’s the best. Enjoy.

Bonjour Michelle,
I found this review of the ‘Perigord’ restaurant when checking in Google how well my own blog on Perigord (the region) fared. Yours came on the list a little before mine ! I am not jealous, but a somewhat puzzled as I used google.fr and I (www.periblog.fr) have over 110 articles about the Perigord region…
This said, I enjoyed very much watching your review of this ‘oldest’ French restaurant in Manhattan. I didn’t think the food on the plates was as tantalising as you obviously did. It seemed to lack a little refinement. As for desert I would have chosen the ‘Ile flottante’ as you did ; which can be a hit or miss choice, as the chef can sometime put too much sugar in the ‘creme anglaise’ or too much caramel on top of the ‘meringue’. I like it with flakes of almond sprinkled on it. I found the accent of the waiter a little off putting. Again, lacking a certain refinement.
Boeuf Bourguignon is not a ‘Perigordin’ (we also say ‘Perigourdin’) dish, but it is one of my favorites. Seabass is not bad neither, although the marroon colored sauce didn’t quite make the dish look pretty. Pretty, you are, however. Bye and Kissous W
