Stop!
April 29, 2008 – 3:26 pm
Springtime is here and the purchase of puppies is at its greatest. When us humans decide they want a puppy they want it immediately, whether it’s to make their children happy or just for themselves. They don’t like to waste time meeting with breeders so they walk into a puppy store just to “look” and inevitably fall in love with a puppy and take one home. What this is doing is feeding the business of puppy mills where they churn out puppies quickly to meet the supply and demand of the customers who seek immediate gratification to own a cute little puppy for the spring & summer…

One Response to “Stop!”
As a breeder I whole heartedly agree with this sentiment. Speaking for our small kennel, we carefully arrange each breeding with the idea that the puppies will be an improvement is some way over the parents. We work very hard at producing pups with wonderful temperament and then we do our best to find each and every puppy a wonderful family. Finally unlike any pet shop - our commitment to our pups is lifelong. We are prepared to welcome back any pup that we have bred and either keep or re-home it.
