Announcement: Wolfgang’s Steakhouse Restaurant Now Open In Beverly Hills!

May 7, 2008 – 4:25 am

At Wolfgang’s Steakhouse, merriment could not be anything but festive with such jocund company as the Proprietor himself, Wolfgang Zwiener.

One little known fact about this jovial man is he worked as a waiter at Peter Lugars Steakhouse for 40 years before opening this flagship location on 33rd and Park Avenue. There are now two locations in New York City with three more set to open in Hawaii, Beverly Hills and South Beach! New update: Wolfgang’s Steakhouse, Waikiki Beach, Hawaii planned opening in September! Needless to say everything was perfect from start to finish.

Knits For The Children

April 30, 2008 – 9:17 pm

My magnanimous mom, Myrna, is currently knitting a blanket for a sick child, and you can be just as magnanimous by knitting for kids, too!

In all seriousness, I have shared the links to just a few of the many charitable organizations that can be contacted should you like to participate in this wonderful cause.

If you’re a closet knitter (or play one on TV :) ), then knitting a small blanket, chemo cap or any of the many items listed at the sites would warm the heart of the sick child that receives it, not to mention the fulfillment you’ll receive in knowing a sick child will be just a little more comfortable and happy having received a gift made with love and from the goodness of your heart…

Spread the love and knit for kids!

A personal note from Myrna:

My friend Connie who is a new friend knits for this new children’s hospital in North Carolina, Levine Children’s Hospital. Although it does not link to a knitting organization, she used to live in North Carolina and her and a friend of hers do this for charity and for the wonderful children that love the blankets. She goes out of her way to get special soft wool for the children.

Although she is a very new person in my life, I think she is wonderful for doing this and getting people to partake in this wonderful gift to the children who are so sick. The reason that they need so many blankets is because the children take them home with them. She says “they are so happy when they get the blankets and their faces just sparkle with happiness.” I believe most of the children have cancer.

This new friend of mine, showed up one day with the wool and knitting needles and told me, the non knitter, to cast on 100 stitches and knit. Make a little border of two inches and then use the blue and pink wool until the wool is all used.

How sensational to do something for the children and who would not want to have good feelings in doing something wonderful?

You can contact Connie via email: clony@aol.com for further information on the Levine Children’s Hospital.

Springtime is here and the purchase of puppies is at its greatest. When us humans decide they want a puppy they want it immediately, whether it’s to make their children happy or just for themselves. They don’t like to waste time meeting with breeders so they walk into a puppy store just to “look” and inevitably fall in love with a puppy and take one home. What this is doing is feeding the business of puppy mills where they churn out puppies quickly to meet the supply and demand of the customers who seek immediate gratification to own a cute little puppy for the spring & summer…
